Ohio high school ends ban on students' driving to school

Aug. 25, 2010
Bellbrook High banned the practice in the 1970s after a fatal crash

From The Dayton Daily News: For the first time in about 40 years, Bellbrook (Ohio) High School is allowing seniors to drive to school. About 120 of the school’s 200 seniors have signed signed up for the $50 yearly parking pass. In the 1970s, the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek school board prohibited students from driving to school after a student died in a car accident. The ban did not affect students who took college or career academy classes off campus, but the board prohibited all other student drivers until now.
