From The New York Times: Lawyers for New York City, and unions representing the teachers and principals, have agreed to try to find an arbitrator who can quickly decide whether any contract rules were violated by the city’s plan to close 24 schools and replace them with new ones. The agreement came after a State Supreme Court judge urged the two sides to seek arbitration rather than have her decide whether to issue an injunction to prevent the city from hiring new staff members for the reorganized schools.
