June 23, 2007

Voters in Newtown, Ct., have approved a $2.7 million expenditure for architectural designs for expansion and renovation of the town's high school. The expansion project is necessary because of increasing enrollment. The building was renovated 10 years ago to accommodate 1,600 students, and it is now about 100 students over capacity. Projections show the enrollment could reach 2,000 students by 2010.
