Texas district plans new gym

New facility will triple existing spectator capacity.

The Rusk (Texas) school district is planning to build a new high school gymnasium. The district says the new gym will cost between $2.5 million and $3.5 million. Preliminary plans call for it to have a capacity between 1,200 and 1,500, about three times what the existing facility seats. Officials hope to have the new gym ready by November 2008, in time for the basketball season. The architect is Goodwin Lasiter.
