Chicago's “turnarounds” have worked at elementary schools, but not at high schools

Study says that high schools that have undergone reform perform no better than ones that haven't

From The Chicago Sun-Times: A study indicates Chicago’s “turnaround” elementary schools produced better academic gains than other struggling schools that did not undergo similar reforms. But at the high school level, the University of Chicago’s Consortium on Chicago School Research found that, after four years, “turned around’’ schools did not perform differently than similar struggling high schools on at least two important indicators.
