Philadelphia Archdiocese to close 2 more schools

From The Philadelphia Inquirer: Caught between falling enrollment and rising costs, two more Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will close in June. St. Benedict Parish School in East Germantown and St. Ann Parish School in Bristol will shut their doors when the school year ends.

EARLIER: Declining enrollment is causing another Philadelphia Catholic elementary school to close. St. Bernard School will close in June. The decision was based in part on financial concerns of the parish, where Mass attendance also has fallen sharply. In 2006, the school had 308 students. The number fell to 258 in 2007. This year, 202 K-8 students attend. Projected enrollment next year was 177. Read The Philadelphia Inquirer article.
