Baltimore proposal: Close 26 schools in next 10 years
From The Baltimore Sun: A $2.4 billion facilities plan for Baltimore city schools calls for closing 26 school buildings in the next 10 years. Another 136 campuses would get facility upgrades. The plan, announced by CEO Andres Alonso, would relocate some schools to different buildings; others would cease to exist. Four schools affected are recommended to close at the end of the current school year: Baltimore Rising Star Academy, Garrison Middle, Patapsco Elementary/Middle, and William C. March Middle.
