Group may sue New York over lack of school funding

Campaign for Fiscal Equity says state is at least $5 billion behind in the funding it promised in 2007
Nov. 29, 2012

From The New York Times: Saying that the State of New York is at least $5 billion behind on a 2007 financing agreement that stemmed from a court ruling, the Campaign for Fiscal Equity contends that aid cuts and a cap on property tax increases have exacerbated the financing gap between rich and poor school districts. The group is threatening a new lawsuit unless the state comes up with billions of extra dollars for poor districts.
