From The Washington Post: The parents of a 6-year-old Silver Spring, Md., boy are appealing their first-grader’s school suspension for pointing his finger like a gun and saying “pow,” an incident school officials characterized as a threat to shoot a student. The first-grader was suspended from Roscoe Nix Elementary for one day last month.

UPDATE....From The Washington Post: Montgomery County (Md.) school district officials will clear the record of a 6-year-old Silver Spring boy who was suspended from school for pointing his finger like a gun and saying “pow.” The first-grader had been suspended for one day in December from Roscoe Nix Elementary School. The incident happened a week after the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.
