Tornado damage forces Mobile high school to relocate
From The Mobile Press-Register: Students from Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala., will be moved to another campus after their school sustained at least $10 million in damage from a Christmas Day tornado. Murphy’s 2,250 students will share the Clark-Shaw magnet school campus with the 700 middle schoolers who are already there. Murphy’s students will be housed a newer, two-story wing of the school, known now as the “back building,” which has about 21 classrooms. In addition, about 60 portable classrooms will be used for the high school. Resumption of classes has been put off until Monday so the district can get Clark-Shaw ready for the influx of high school students.
