West Virginia school shut down after tests show presence of methamphetamine (w/Video)

July 26, 2011

From The Charleston Daily-Mail: The Boone County Career and Technical Center in Danville, W.Va., has been shut down after state health officials discovered evidence of methamphetamine in the facility. The closure comes after an investigation prompted by the arrests earlier this year of Principal Keith Phipps and teacher Jack Turley on meth-related charges. Both have been on administrative leave since March. Subsequent tests at the center detected methamphetamine residue, primarily around the central office area. Officials say the school will be closed until further notice. Classes at the center were scheduled to resume Aug. 22. During the school year about 450 students from the county's three high schools are enrolled at the center.
