Ocean View (Calif.) district will demolish vacant school
The Ocean View (Calif.) district is demolishing a vacant Huntington Beach school plagued by graffiti and loitering.
Park View School , a former K-8 campus, closed in 1988 because of declining enrollment, reports the Daily Pilot.
The Huntington Beach (Calif.) Union High School District has been using the building as an adult school site, but stopped doing that several years ago.
Ocean View board members say the school is in disrepair and most likely contains asbestos. Some say it has become a community eyesore.
In other action, the board voted to modernize Mesa View Middle School in Huntington Beach during the 2023-24 school year.
