The Newark Star-Ledger reports that the closing has saddened scores of alumni, teachers, displaced students and their families. Several hundred attended a recent farewell vigil that offered a final opportunity to tour classrooms, browse unclaimed trophies and walk hallways lined with messages touting the strength of women.
