Baker College sells Muskegon, Mich., campus for $9.9 million
Baker College has sold its Muskegon, Mich., campus to Muskegon County for $9.9 million.
The sale will enable the college to focus its attention on expanding its presence in downtown Muskegon, reports MiBiz.
“With the completion of this facility sale, we now have the green light to put our move downtown in motion,” Baker College Muskegon President Aaron Maike said. “While we continue to evolve and make the transition downtown, the entire Baker College team remains committed to our students’ success."
The college said it will share the 30,000-square-foot campus with the county until it can relocate into a smaller facility in downtown Muskegon.
Expanding operations downtown is part of Baker’s long-term strategy of pursuing walkable communities, according to college officials.
The deal will also enable the county to sell some of its property and consolidate several of its services.
