Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. is now Iona University.

The private Catholic college has been granted university status by the New York Board of Regents as Iona expands its academic offerings, reports The Journal News.

The university is collaborating with New York-Presbyterian Hospital to create a school of health sciences.

The New York-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences is scheduled to open in January on the former campus of Concordia College in Bronxville, which Iona acquired in 2021.
