Duluth (Minn.) district sells Central High School property for $8 million
The Duluth (Minn.) school board has agreed to sell its Central High School property for $8 million to Chester Creek View, LLC.
The purchase agreement is contingent on the demolition of the Central High School and minimal site restoration, the district said in a news release.
The district closed Central High in 2011. It was built in 1971 and replaced the previous Central High facility, which opened in 1892. After it was closed, the building became known as Historic Old Central High School.
The board agreed in 2020 to sell Historic Old Central High to a developer for $3 million.
Demolition of the 1971 high school building is scheduled for the fall and is expected to cost about $810,130.
