The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Molinar will oversee the 75,000-student district while the board searches for a permanent leader. She replaces Angélica Ramsey who resigned last month as superintendent amid concerns about the district’s academic performance.
This is Molinar's second stint as Fort Worth's interim superintendent. She served as the interim district leader before Ramsey was hired.
“I am pleased and humbled to accept the position of Interim Superintendent for the Fort Worth ISD as we embark on a necessary but meaningful transformation to address the critical shortcomings within the District,” Molinar said.
The district has not yet detailed the plans for its search process, but Molinar said she plans to apply for the permanent position.
