Five special needs students and two adults were injured when a Chesterfield County (Va.) school district bus was hit by a pickup truck and overturned.
The injured were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, reports The Richmond Times-Dispatch.
The collision sent the bus through a guardrail. It plunged down a ravine before overturning on its right side under some power lines.
The pickup truck was traveling west when it veered off the road, over-corrected and struck the school bus, police said.
A summons was issued for the pickup truck driver, Larry G. Talley Jr., 55, on charges of reckless driving and having an expired inspection.
