New residence hall coming to University of Bridgeport
The University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn., is planning to build a residence hall to house 220 students.
Antinozzi Associates, designer of the project, says the four-story, 60,000-square-foot facility will be the first new residence hall on campus in decades, and one of several residence halls to be constructed in coming years.
The hall will have a variety of living configurations, including suites and traditional bedrooms, along with common rooms and student support services.
The design of the new residence hall is intended to evoke the style of private homes built near the campus during the industrial era in the late 19th and early 20th centuries--suggestive of a resort hotel, while using modern sustainability principles..
KBE Construction will build the residence hall. Construction will begin in May and be completed in 2016.
