Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, will begin construction next month on a new central building and a new residence hall at the Heritage Halls on-campus housing area
To clear the way for construction, crews will raze the final four original Heritage Halls residences—Broadbent Hall, Felt Hall, Fox Hall and Harris Hall. The four buildings, finished in 1953, were among the first of the original 24 Heritage Halls residence halls.
Construction on the new buildings is estimated to be completed by early summer 2017. The new residence hall will bring the total number of new Heritage Hall residences to 13, with a total capacity of about 2,750 students.
The Heritage Halls Central Building will house offices for Heritage Halls administrators, study rooms for residents and multipurpose space. During spring and summer terms, the multipurpose space will be used for dining for summer camps, conferences and summer workshops.
