Northwest Florida Daily News reports that Raider Village is a 192-bed, $13.3 million facility for students.
"In the 62 years that Northwest Florida State College has been open, we have never had students living on our campus," said Chris Stowers, the college's executive director. "Raider Village has changed that."
The privately developed and managed residence hall has two- and four-bed units. Each unit has a washer and dryer, and every student gets a private bedroom and bathroom. Units have fully furnished living areas, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and modern finishes.
Each floor has a dedicated common area; the second and third floors have a lounge, flat-screen TVs, table tennis and a vintage arcade game.
All rooms are protected with electronic pin access and keycard access at the main entrance.
Students will pay $920 to $995 per month; the average monthly rent in Okaloosa County is $1,449.
