The $117 million project is Tech’s first new housing construction since 2005, when 10th and Home opened to accommodate more graduate and family student populations.
The university says the eight-story residence hall will provide needed space to accommodate students who are being relocated because of renovations on existing residence halls.
Resident support spaces in the new facility will include collaborative learning spaces, community lounges, group kitchens, a 24-hour automated market, and fitness facilities.
The building has been designed and is being constructed to achieve LEED Gold certification for its environmentally friendly features.
