Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony next week for its newest residence facility, Daryl and Lois Flood Residence Hall.

The university says Flood Hall will be a 57,816-square-foot building designed to house up to 224 students. The four-story structure will have 116 student rooms and eight single-occupancy rooms for resident assistants.

Flood Hall will offer a range of amenities aimed at enhancing the student experience, including:

  • Separate men’s and women’s laundry rooms
  • A main lobby and designated movie, prayer, and study rooms
  • A meeting room and two outdoor terraces
  • A two-bedroom, two-bath resident director suite

Flood Hall is one of several facility projects at Evangel, including the renovation of Walther Hall, construction of a lighted intramural turf field, and development of the Valor Center and Randy Rowden Training Facility.

Collectively, these projects mark the first major building initiative on Evangel’s campus since the opening of the Ralph M. Riggs Administration Building in 2009.
