Purdue University Northwest in Hammond, Indiana, has begun construction of a third residence hall on campus.

The university says the $29 million, 42,000-square-foot facility, Calumet Hall, will be built just south of Lawshe Hall. The building is expected to be ready for occupancy for the fall 2026 semester.

The three-story facility will provide 150 beds through a combination of single- and double-occupancy rooms, plus a common kitchen, laundry facilities, student study areas and a student lounge.

The builder is Berglund Construction.
