The University of Miami is planning to construct a seven-story, multimillion-dollar football facility in Coral Gables, Fla.
The university’s plans for a $100 million "Football Operations Center and Garage" have been submitted to the city of Coral Gables Development Review Committee.
The Miami Herald reports that construction on the project is expected to begin in late 2023 and be completed in mid-2025.
The project is expected to be a state-of-the-art facility that will house both the administrative side of the university football team and player development components, such as training areas.
The football operations center is expected to be about 150,000 square feet. Included in the operations center will be a fitness center, dining facility, simulator room, alumni and player lounge, training facilities, recruiting lounge, player locker rooms in addition to a gaming lounge.
The parking garage will accommodate 600 spaces in a six-story, 200,000-square-foot space.
A dining facility for student athletes is planned for the ground floor of the parking garage. On the third floor, a walkway will connect directly with the football operations center.
