Olathe (Kan.) district voters have approved a $298.3 million bond request to improve local schools.
The bonds will enable the district to replace the aging Santa Fe Trail Middle School with a $60 million facility, reports KSHB-TV.
More than $60 million will be spent on technology upgrades, including acquisition of 3,400 laptops for elementary students.
Playgrounds at 34 elementary schools will get new surfaces and equipment.
The district will also allocate $4 million for turf replacement at four high schools.
The Olathe district serves about 30,000 students.
