State Grant Will Bring Green Repairs to Braintree, Mass., Schools

The Massachusetts School Building Authority has approved $1.6 million in grants for repairs at five schools in Braintree.

The Massachusetts School Building Authority has approved $1.6 million in grants for repairs at five schools in Braintree under the state’s Green Repair Program.

The program seeks to improve learning environments, reduce energy use and generate cost savings. It provides funds to repair or replace roofs, windows or boilers.

The Braintree grants: $213,000 for a window project at Archie T. Morrison Elementary School; $775,000 for a window project at East Middle School; $96,000 for a window project at Highlands Elementary School; $319,000 for a window project at Hollis Elementary School; and $213,000 for a roof project at Braintree High School.
