The Henrico County (Va.) district has installed more than 2,000 solar panels at Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs.
The district expects the solar panels will provide about 35% of the school's electricity needs, reports WRIC-TV.
Henrico County is also planning to install similar solar panels at J.R. Tucker High School and Holladay Elementary School.
Over the next 25 years, the solar panels are anticipated to save Henrico about $420,000 in electricity costs.
