Product Application: Virtual school tour boosts fund raising

Launching successful capital campaigns can be challenging for schools and universities. Prospective donors may be more likely to commit funds if they are able to clearly visualize the scope of the project.

That's why Providence Day School in Charlotte, N.C., hired AniMagic Productions to create a video that provides a virtual tour of the library and gymnasium the school plans to build.

The video blends animation technology and architectural design to create a three-dimensional animated virtual tour that brings potential donors "inside" the project so they can see how their dollars will be spent and how students will benefit.

"The tour of our proposed new library and gymnasium has generated much excitement among our parents, students and faculty," says Robert Hawks, director of development at Providence Day School.

The school was able to raise funds seven times faster than it had in previous efforts.
