Trinity Episcopal School, an elementary and middle school in Victoria, Texas, is constructing an elementary building that will consolidate students under one roof.
The $7.9 million building will replace the school's existing elementary space, reports The Victoria Advocate.
It will have 22 classrooms, a multipurpose space and an outdoor classroom.
Students and staff now have to cross a street to get from the main campus to the elementary building.
The new building will be a two-story facility.
School officials said the new building will also enable the campus to be safer by decreasing the amount of outside doors the school has to secure. The atrium and outside doors will be monitored by cameras, and parts of the school will be outfitted with bullet-resistant glass.
The new building is expected to be completed by June 2023.
