Arts instruction | Instruction center for performing arts at Napa Valley College

Construction is underway on an instruction center for performing arts at Napa Valley College, Napa, Calif. The complex will include multiple spaces for music and theater department performances and instruction.

The 48,000-square-foot facility will feature a 550-seat theater; black-box theater; music recital venue; theater; choral, orchestral and piano rehearsal spaces; offices; and a scene and costume shop. It is part of the $133.8 million bond measure passed by Napa County voters in 2002 and is scheduled for completion in spring 2010.

The architect is HGA Architects and Engineers (San Francisco).
