The creation of the schools is part of the district's workforce development imitative, reports WFLA News.
The district will convert Waters Career Center to a medical academy and Bowers-Whitley Career Center to a construction trades academy. Both academies will serve grades nine through 12, reports Tampa Bay Times.
The district's Brewster Technical College will be re-opened as a medical technical college and is designed for students who want to continue their education after graduating from Waters Career Center.
The redesigned Waters and Bowers-Whitley schools will open in fall 2023. Brewster Technical College, which is near Waters, will reopen in 2024.
