Providence College is planning to build a $54 million, six-story residence hall on its Providence, R.I., campus.
The 123,000-square-foot residence hall, to be named Shanley Hall, will provide living spaces for about 360 sophomores, reports The Providence Journal.
College officials say the new building will enable Providence College to move students out of Aquinas Hall so the 83-year-old facility can be renovated.
Plans for Shanley Hall include lounges, study rooms, alcoves, communal kitchens and meeting rooms, among other amenities.
Providence College needs approval from the City Plan Commission before it can move ahead.
If approved, the residence hall could open in September 2023.
