Lake Land College plans expansion on Effingham, Ill., campus
Lake Land College, a community college based in Mattoon, Ill., is constructing a Rural Development Technology Center workforce training facility on its Effingham campus.
The facility will sit adjacent to the Kluthe Center, reports the Journal Gazette and Times-Courier.
The center also will house the Effingham Regional Career Academy high school vocational program.
The Rural Development Technology Center's design will be similar to the Mattoon campus' Workforce Development Center, which has open lab space, classrooms and offices.
Officials said the new Career Academy space on the Effingham campus will help enhance the academy's vocational training programs for more than a dozen high schools in the region.
The facility is expected to open in 2024.
