The Reading (Pa.) district is building a high school that will focus on STEM education.
The planned $71 million facility will be a 145,000-square-foot four-floor building that will accommodate 700 to 1,000 students, reports The Reading Eagle.
About $55 million of the cost will come from the district's Covid relief funds, The balance is to come from district capital improvement funds.
The school will be built on the site of the former Reading Outlet Center. It will have a commons area that will double as an auditorium or classroom.
The new school will alleviate crowding at other high schools within the district and provide students opportunities for programs in STEM.
D’Huy Engineering Inc. and Stackhouse Bensinger Inc. are the architects.
The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
