Fairfield University wants to build a sophomore residence hall
Fairfield University is planning to construct a 165-bed residence hall on its Fairfield, Conn., campus.
The residence hall, to be called Regis West, will provide living space for sophomores, reports CT Insider.
The university is seeking approval from the Town Plan and Zoning Commission for the residence hall proposal.
The university initially wanted to build a five-story, 56-foot-tall facility, but downsized it to four stories and 46 feet tall following community discussions.
The university is hoping to increase its undergraduate enrollment to about 5,000 students, and the additional student housing would help it reach that goal.
