An all-boys high school is planned for the Paterson (N.J.) district.

The school board has approved plans for the Young Men’s High School, which would open in September 2023, reports northjersey.com

The school would use the building that now houses School 29, officials said. The district will need to spend about $750,000 to renovate the building.

Board President Kenneth Simmons said the school most likely would have just ninth graders in its first year, and then expand one grade per year after that, until it becomes a four-year high school with about 180 students.
