The main campus of Middlesex College in Edison, N.J., could be transformed into a regional destination under a strategic development plan.
The Community, Innovation and Opportunity Strategic Investment Plan, part of Middlesex County's Destination 2040 Strategic Plan, is designed to transform and bolster Middlesex College and Middlesex County Magnet Schools, reports MyCentralJersey.com.
The Middlesex College campus is already home to the Edison Academy Magnet School and will become home to the Middlesex County Magnet School of the Future.
Plans call for adding a multipurpose community venue, a workplace development and conference center, a community park and student center, a magnet school and an athletic complex.
Also planned are expanded exterior spaces with public art, seating and water features.
