Four new schools welcomed students for the first time this morning in the rapidly growing Frisco (Texas) school district.

WFAA-TV reports that the new campuses are Reedy High School, Trent Middle School, Pearson Middle School and Norris Elementary. The district now has eight high schools, 15 middle schools, 38 elementary schools and three special-program schools.

The additional classrooms are needed to accommodate a student population that is expected to top 53,000 this year-an enrollment increase of about 20,000 in just four years. Another four new schools are scheduled to open for 2016-17, the district says.
