Cypress-Fairbanks (Texas) district is building its first school-based health clinic
The Cypress-Fairbanks (Texas) district has broken ground on a health clinic that will be situated on a 179-acre multi-school site.
The 10,000-square-foot clinic will be the first school-based clinic in the Cypress-Fairbanks district. It is expected to open in August 2016, the same time that the district's 11th high school, Cypress Park, opens on the campus. Cypress-Fairbanks also has plans to build a middle school and an elementary school on the site.
The clinic will serve students, staff and community members.
"It will include all kinds of care–dental, vision, immunizations, physicals and acute care,” says Bevin Gordon, the district's director of health services.
The school system is partnering with Good Neighbor Healthcare Center to operate the facility.
The facility will be constructed by the modular building company ModSpace. It will be built off-site for the most part, then delivered to the site and installed.
