Tulane University in New Orleans is planning a $35 million expansion of its A. B. Freeman School of Business.
The project calls for renovating about 40,000 square feet of existing space and building a 45,000 square-foot, four-story addition, the university says. The facility will be called the Goldring/Woldenberg Business Complex.
“This expansion and renovation will cement Tulane’s reputation as one of the top destinations for the nation’s brightest students of business,” Tulane President Mike Fitts says.
The space will have advanced, flexible classrooms; expanded breakout rooms for collaborative learning; a new financial analysis lab; a larger, modernized career management center; and incubator space for student startups.
The complex also will have a three-story atrium, additional space for faculty offices, and a newly designed Student Gateway that will serve as a gathering space and entrance to the Monroe Quad.
The building is being designed with a goal of receiving LEED Gold certification. Construction will begin in May and is projected to be complete by January 2018.
