The Cypress-Fairbanks (Texas) district has opened Cypress Park High School, its 11th high school.

The Cypress Creek Mirror reports that the $127 million campus encompasses 592,000 square feet. It has been built on a 179-acre campus that in the future will be home to an elementary school and a middle school.

The building has a three-story academic wing, an 860-seat auditorium and 1,750-seat competition gymnasium. The learning space includes 28 science rooms and areas for collaboration among neighboring classrooms.

Cypress Park will have only freshmen its first year, and after adding one grade level per year in the next three years, will accommodate students in grades nine to 12.

Cypress-Fairbanks is the third-largest public school system in Texas. It has about 115,000 students in 88 schools

The facility was designed by PBK Architects.
