Norcliffe HallThe university says Meier and Norcliffe halls, built in Stanford's Lagunita Court complex, each have space for 109 students.
The facilities offer single rooms, two-room doubles and traditional double rooms, and each hall has its own lounge, kitchenette, computer rooms and common areas.
Together with the Ng House, which opened last year, the three residence halls are the first new undergraduate housing spaces added to the Stanford campus in 20 years.
The two newest residence halls were designed and built to complement the existing Mediterranean-inspired architecture of the Lagunita Court complex, which was constructed in the 1930s.
“Meier Hall and Norcliffe Hall fit in so beautifully with the older houses, both indoors and out,” says Rodger Whitney, Stanford's executive director of Residential & Dining Enterprises.
Features incorporated into the residence halls include library/gathering spaces at the main entrance, main lounges with attached kitchenettes and outdoor gathering spaces, art/project spaces, seminar rooms, modern multimedia rooms and music rooms. Both halls offer wireless technology, and have projectors and large screens in the main lounges.
