The Osceola County (Fla.) district has broken ground in Kissimmee on a $75 million high school focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

The campus, for now known as High School FFF at Boggy Creek, will accommodate up to 3,000 students.

The high school will consist of several buildings. In addition to classrooms, the campus will have an active learning media center, testing facilities, gymnasium, auditorium, administration, and cafeteria buildings. The school also will have an outdoor learning environment, with elements such as demonstration photovoltaic panels, learning gardens and outdoor classrooms.

The district expects the construction to be completed in time for the 2018-19 school year.

The architect is SchenkelShultz Architecture, and the contractor is Gilbane Building Company.
