MIddle school ready to open in Twin Falls, Idaho

$26 million South Hills Middle School is the first middle school to open in the district since 1979.

A new middle school is slated to open in Twin Falls, Idaho, later this month.

The Twin Falls Times-News reports that the $26 million South Hills Middle School is the last of three new schools that the Twin Falls district has built with money from a $74 million bond issue that voters approved in 2014. The school is expected to have at least 600 students when its doors open on Aug. 17.

“It’s a beautiful facility and we’re excited to fill the halls with kids,” says Ryan Bowman, director of operations for the Twin Falls district.
 
South Hills is be the first middle school built in Twin Falls since 1979. the new school will relieve a space crunch attributed to rapid enrollment growth.

Officials say crews are finishing up millwork this week. Electrical work is underway to prepare for installing a scoreboard at the football field within the next week or so.

Teachers have been allowed to enter the facility and prepare their classrooms for the arrival of students.
