60,000-square-foot facility for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School will replace 34-year-old school.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School in Kenner, La., has broken ground on a new 60,000-square-foot elementary campus.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that the school will be built on a nine-acre tract adjacent to Divine Mercy Catholic Church. It will replace an existing 34-year-old campus.

The facility will consist of classrooms—two per grade in kindergarten through seventh grade—a physical education room, computer and science labs, a foreign language center, a library/media room, an individual needs room, a music room, an administrative wing, and a dual-purpose room that will serve as a cafeteria and auditorium that will hold up to 600 people.

The school also will have a self-contained Early Childhood Center that will provide before- and after-school daycare.

Construction will begin later this year and will be completed sometime during the 2018-2019 school year.

The architect is fl+WB Architects and the builder is Voelkel McWilliams Construction.
