DePaul College Prep in Chicago has dedicated its new campus.

WBBM-TV reports that the Catholic high school has moved to a 17-acre campus along the North Branch of the Chicago River.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot was on hand along with Blaise Cardinal Cupich, who gave a blessing to the school’s buildings and athletic fields.

DePaul College Prep, formerly known as Gordon Tech High School, moved to the new campus from its longtime home on the other side of the river.

From 1904 until 1967, the site of the new DePaul College Prep campus was part of Chicago's storied Riverview amusement park.

The specific site of the DePaul College Prep campus had been home to a DeVry University campus for decades after Riverview closed. DeVry has since moved to a former Sears store a couple of miles to the northeast.
