Construction is set to begin this summer on a new baseball and softball field complex at Oxford High School in Oxford, Miss.

The Hotty Toddy News reports that the Oxford school board has approved three construction bids for the new facility that total about $5.2 million. The overall cost for the project is estimated at $6.7 million.

The complex will be on the north side of the high school. It will consist of fields, grandstands, a practice facility, locker rooms and a workout room.

Funding for the complex comes from a $38 million bond referendum approved by votes in 2017.

Other projects funded by the bond issue were the new Central Elementary School and the new Fine Arts Building at Oxford High.
