The 95,900-square-foot school in the Chesterfield County district will serve 750 students, 50 more than the old school, reports ABC News 8. The new building is on the same campus as the existing building.
Reams is one of six schools that a 2013 referendum set to renovate or replace. The existing school was built in 1968 and hasn’t been renovated since 1997.
The district says the one-story school will have a core area for administration, which includes a media center, art, music and cafetorium.
The campus will be equipped with security cameras, motion sensors, and card access readers.
