Nearly three years after a wildfire destroyed most of the schools in the Paradise (Calif.) district, workers are continuing to construct new spaces on multiple campuses.

KHSL-TV reports that nearly all of the district's schools were either destroyed or damaged in November 2018 by the deadly Camp Fire wildfire.

Paradise High School, Ridgeview High School, Paradise Ridge Elementary, Pine Ridge Elementary, Cedar Wood Elementary and the Operations Facility for Maintenance, Transportation and Food service building are among the facilities where construction projects are underway.

At Paradise High School, a two-story addition with 19 classrooms is being built. Other updates include a new gymnasium, softball fields and tennis courts.

The new building and quad area at Paradise High School are expected to be completed by August 2023.

Across the street from Paradise High School is where a new Ridgeview High School is under construction and is slated to be completed around August 2022. The previous campus was in Magalia, Calif., but was destroyed in the fire.

Construction of a new Paradise Ridge Elementary School is nearing completion, and the campus is set to welcome students back later this summer for the first time since the Camp Fire.
